When you go to the Newcastle City Farmers Market at the Broadmeadow Showground you have an unique opportunity to interact directly with our farmers, producers and artisans.
Where else but at ‘The Farmers’ can you buy groceries direct from the farmer – from the person who grew, nurtured and made the product. At the weekly farmers market you not only get to meet the maker and the farmer, you can ask about how and where it’s grown or made, how best to store or use it.
It’s an experience that cannot be replicated on a daily basis. Our farmers tend crops, timing their harvests to ensure your produce is as fresh as can be, which is not something any store can duplicate daily.

Newcastle City Farmers Market is a showcase of the best and freshest produce and gourmet delights from our local farmers & makers.
Great atmosphere and huge variety of products. Everybody is helpful and more than willing to share there experiences in their speciality areas. Bring your own bags as buying lots of little items from various stores results in the shoppers juggle.
Best farmer’s market going around, a huge range of fresh produce and interesting wares. Lots of delicious food trucks too. Unfortunately because it is such a good market it can get quite crowded, even really in the morning. Conveniently located and easily accessable, if you don’t mind the crowds make sure to check it out.
Lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. Parking was easy and cheap. Plenty of stalls selling fresh and high quality food. Lots of choice of great takeaway food from vans and we found seating in the shade without a struggle.
Fresh fruit & veg products from local growers. Large variety of tasty street eats. Lots of handmade items by local designers too. Ample street parking.
Brilliant place to get some of the freshest local produce. Much better quality and often cheaper than the supermarkets. Bring the kids for a jump on the jumping castle or for a pony ride to make a family day of it.
A good range of fresh fruit & veg + organic wine, artisan bread, cakes, meat. Too many good things to list, the highlight is buffalo dairy products
The Farmers Market has a great atmosphere and offers a good range of fresh produce and food/coffee direct from the grower/maker.
